Even as a young child I knew I would spend my life working with mothers and babies. Pregnancy has always inspired me, and in high school I decided to pursue birth work as a career. My senior year of high school I had the privilege of witnessing a neighbor’s planned home birth. I was so deeply moved by that birthing mama’s power and strength that I have been studying natural birth ever since.
In July 2010 my daughter Ophelia was born at home in Portland, Oregon. Becoming a mother myself solidified and intensified my passion for birth work and women’s health care. Ophelia is now a vibrant 4 year old and our family is living happily in Victor Idaho, where I have
the privilege of being with women, working as a birth doula in Eastern Idaho, Jackson Wyoming, and the surrounding areas, and practicing midwifery as an apprentice at Selah Midwifery Center.

I received my doula training from Birthingway College of Midwifery in 2007, childbirth educator training in 2010, and began the school's midwifery program in 2009. I am currently working toward completing the clinical requirements for national certification as a professional midwife with a desire to license in Idaho and Wyoming.
“Birth is the beginning of life; the beginning of mothering, and of fathering. We all deserve a good beginning.” ~ Sarah J. Buckley, MD
